Sant’Antonino dates back to the 9th century and is one of the oldest villages in Corsica, founded by Roman count Ugo Colonna.
Often referred to as the ‘Eagles Nest’ due to its dramatic location and altitude, Sant’Antonino consists of narrow streets lined with ancient, traditional houses built into the rock.
Sant’Antonino is a pleasure to explore and offers something for everyone. Make your way through the many archways to catch a glimpse of the former wine press and ancient bread oven.
On the edge of the village you’ll find The Church of the Annunciation, dating back to the 11th century with its imposing bell tower spanning four levels.
Walk to the top of the village to see the ruins of the ancient fortifications and take in the panoramic views of the bay of Calvi and Belagna.
